The Birthday Girl!!

Yesterday we celebrated the big one year old birthday for our cute Courtney Fay. Its been a crazy, wonderful year full of ups and not-so-ups for her, but we survived it. We had a pretty relaxed low key day though. Her Grandma and Grandpa Goodrich came down for the big day along with her aunt Tori. We had a little party for her last night which consisted mostly of watching her dig into her own little cake and making a spectacular mess of herself. As you can see in the pictures she started out a little timid, but once she got a taste, there was no holding back! She got some fun little gifts and was the special little princess for the day (she is every other day too!).
She is a precious little blessing in our lives and along with her rowdy older brother, make up the two things in the world Dustin and I are most proud of. Being a parent has its trials, but it makes it worth it when you get a big hug from them. My favorite thing Zack says lately is when he knows he about to get in trouble, he'll say, "Mom, you are a beautiful mom, you are so beautful." He already knows how to work the system... I'm in trouble!
Anyway, I wish I could say the fall weather around here is beautiful, but we have to wear suncreen if we take the kids to the park, its hot and still summer-like. But life is treating us good and we are just happy to be where we are and happy to celebrate our first year with Courtney in our family!
