ECHO results
Mostly good news from the cardiologist. Courtney has a small PDA (patent ductus arteriosis). Its nothing that will cause her any problems, it just puts her at a slightly higher risk for SBE (subacute bacterial endocarditis) or an infection in the heart. All this means is that before she has any sort of procedure, be it surgery, catheterization, dental work, etc, she has to have a dose of antibiotics before-hand to just prevent any infection from starting. Her cardiologist is a friend of mine from work and is super nice. He explained everything to us and was nice enough to send us home with a CD of her ECHO. He also gave us this card we have to carry with is and show to any physician who cares for her explaining what she's got. The ductus arteriosis is only necessary in utero and normally closes shortly after child-birth. So that's it, just a small little problem, that isn't much of a problem at all! Here's a picture to illustrate what I'm talking about so you can better understand if you're not super familiar with the anatomy of the heart.

I hope it is OK I added you guys to our blog. I am new to this but getting the hang of it quickly. Your family is so cute. I am glad I finally gave into blogging so I can keep on top of everybody's lives. I can't believe how much Courtney looks like Sarah Storheim. And Zach..hello little Dustin. I hope all is well and glad we can keep in touch.

Dustin and Stacey I just wanted to write and say hi and let you know that Courtney is in our prayers. She is such a cute little girl. You guys are amazing parents and I'm sure you spoil her every chance you get, she deserves it. Long time no see. Hope all is well.

Dustin and Stacey, thank you for the comment you left. When I saw your little girl it really hit home. She is so precious and she is all goodrich. (sorry stacey) Make sure you guys spoil her, she deserves every bit of it. Knowing Dustin he has to be an awesome dad. and Stacey you've got to be the sweetest mom ever. That's why Courtney has come to you, there couldn't be better parents then you guys to help her out. She will teach you more then you could ever imagine. You are so blessed to have such a sweet angel. Our little Logan has been such a blessing in our lives. It didn't turn out the way we had hoped and prayed. But to be honest with you it has turned out better. Everyday we miss him and that is hard. We know he would not want us to drag our heads and so everyday we have to wake up and make it the best day ever just for him. He has helped us understand the bigger picture and it makes us so proud to have been part of his life. I never new a child could be so special. Make sure you guys take care of those kids.
