More Updates on Stacie...

For those of you who read the last post. There are a few more updates on Stacie that I would like to let you know about for those of you who are concerned about her. First of all, I would like to thank all of you for your nice comments to the blog, your phone calls, your prayers, and for your overall concern for Stacie and our family. It's evident that we have wonderful friends and family around the world and we are grateful for all of you, and we can feel your love and support.

That being said, on Sunday night, two days after she came home, and after a nice fast and a spiritual and guiding priesthood blessing; Stacie got what I would call worse that night; this maybee due to my already high level of stress for her well being, or maybee because she didn't sleep and was crying all night; regardless I had the feeling...and she did as well, that she could no longer go on like this for 3 more weeks like the doctors wanted her to. I was going to just take her into the hospital on Monday at 2 a.m. but Stacie wanted to just wait until the morning to call her doctor and express to him her concern. So she called him on Monday around 9 a.m. He was very nice and understanding, and told her that he wanted to do the amniocentesis test, in which fluid is drawn from her belly in the amniotic fluid. This would determine how developed the baby's lungs were, and would give them an idea of if they could take her soon.

So we went to the doctor, they drew the sample, and we waited all day for the results to be called to us. When her doctor finally called he told us that the baby's lungs weren't quite developed enough to where they would like, to be able to take the baby right away. However, they told Stacie that they would give her steroid shots on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week to help the baby grow quickly, and then on Friday 08-08-08, they would deliver the baby C-section. This would make the baby 34 weeks and 2 days. Which isn't too terribly early. But Stacie and I definately feel good about them taking her out so that Stacie can be relieved of all her pain and get on her road to recovery. We feel like this is the baby's stubborn way of saying that I am ready to come to earth, and are confident that baby will be o.k.

I just wanted to let you know what was happening, and as soon as I hear something different or the baby is born I will let all you know how things go. On a lighter note, our kids are having so much in fun in Salt Lake that I don't think they will want to come home. It could just be me, Stacie, and new baby girl (name not yet determined) for a while. Thanks to all those in SLC who are helping out with the kids as well. We love you.

Please know that our thoughts are with you and Stacie and your sweet children. Your presence is definitely missed around here! So well wishes and prayers are being sent your way.

Give our best to Stacie. And hang in there! It's always hardest on the daddy because they have absolutely no control. But it sounds like you are hanging in there and I'm sure Stacie appreciates all that you are doing.

Best of luck! Can't wait to see the new little one!
