PANAMA

Dustin had the opportunity last week to go to Panama for work. They put together a 12 person pediatric heart team from Vegas; doctors, nurses, perfusionists and techs and went down to Panama City, Panama to help them with building up their pediatric heart program. Basically, they don't do pediatric heart surgery at this hospital and over the next 5 years this group from Vegas will be going down there to teach the adult doctors down there how to do kids. I think there are a couple of other groups from around the country that go down as well at different times of the year.
Anyhoo... Dustin said it was a good experience, chaotic at times since there was a language barrier in the OR, but he was glad he was able to go. Here are some pictures of what he did...

WORKED

Here he is with the perfusionists from Panama & his boss

His boss explaining what he's doing to the Panama perfusionists.

TOURED THE SITES

He wasn't able to go see the Panama Canal because the day they were scheduled to go there it was pouring rain. Maybe next year...

ATE OUT... alot!

And lucky for everyone, the doctors paid!
