Zack's first swim meet!

Since Zack has been on his swim team this summer, we decided to enter him into his very first swim meet. Being total novices to this sport, we had no idea what to expect. The experience of the whole event was fun, but nothing we'd ever done before. There were 6 other swim teams there from as far as St. George, Utah. All the other parents brought canopies, coolers, games, food, etc. to keep their swimmers busy during down time. I had no idea there would be so much down time! But we made it work, I had our camping/sports chairs in the mini and Dustin grabbed some snacks at a near by gas station. We found a nice tree for shade and winged in from there!

His first event was the 25m back stroke. He rocked it!Here he is ready for his next event, the 25m freestyle. Look at his face, he is so determined. He actually took 2nd in this one!
And here he is in his last race. The 100m IM.

What a fun day we had watching Zack compete in swimming. He was so brave to get out there and go for it with all the courage he could muster up! Dustin and I really enjoyed watching him in this new sport we've found and look forward to the next event! Way to go Zack!
