Baby update

I went for the big 3 week growth check in a few days back, to see how much he's grown since our last scan. While he had put on just over 1 lb, he dropped again from the 12% in size, back down to the 6%. He weighs appx. 3 lbs 13 oz.. We also found out that a couple of more complications had arisen. The placenta is gigantic again (this happened with Mary as well) and due to that, the right side of his heart is now enlarged because its overcompensating for having to work extra hard to get the blood flow through the huge placenta. This is the first sign of congestive heart failure (which is also part of what Mary had). So he ordered the 2 steroid shots to be given to me this week to help increase lung baby's function in preparation for early delivery, more monitoring, as seen in the lovely picture and back again next week to see if its time to get him out.

Personally, I am worried sick. I don't sleep much at night because I just sit there and wait to feel him moving around to know he's ok. I can't figure out why they'd want to keep him inside any longer, since it seems to be stressing out his little body so much, but have to put my trust and faith in my doctors that they really know whats best for the baby.  I pray a lot for strength, patience and faith to help us through this difficult pregnancy once again. I pray for my husband, my kids and also for everyone who continues to be there for us. My sweet mother in law has been here for almost 2 weeks helping out with our kids and is staying through next week too, just in case they decide to deliver. I know that this little guy is suppose to complete our family and pray that when he does arrive, he will be able to fight his way to good health, just like his big sister Mary did.

I just rediscovered your blog and oh my heck - crazy - I'm so so sorry. I can't imagine the stress. We will keep you and baby boy in our prayers that he can get her safely and like you said fight his way to good health! I wish I could be there to help. On a side note - look how big and adorable all of your kiddos are. Darling!
