All clean...

I took Will back up (*story about our terrible trip up below) to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake to get a new, bigger cast for the second half of his time in this awful thing. The procedure has to be done in the OR because it takes so long and he can't move. They did clean him up while he was under anesthesia so now he doesn't stink anymore! The doctor told us that the nurse taking care of Will in the OR commented that our baby's skin was the cleanest she's ever seen after taking off a cast that had been on for 5 weeks. I credit that all to Dustin! He is so great about bathing Will every single night with care. It is not an easy task at all. So we are now on the down hill part of this little adventure and I only hope the next 5 weeks can fly by!

Poor baby had a rough day after anesthesia. Did a lot of this...

I've never in my life had a worse experience at an airport than I did at the Las Vegas airport trying to fly up to Salt Lake. First, the dumb guy at security wouldn't let me through because my paper ticket I had printed at home didn't have "infant in arms" written on it. I argued with him that I always have them add him at the gate, but he was a total jerk and made me go back downstairs to the ticket counter. So I go back down and there is a huge line. I ask for help and the lady ushers us over to another very short line... which I stood in for 20 minutes and was certain I was going to miss my flight. I finally got someone to help me after cutting in front of a lady and up to the counter and begging and then I ran back upstairs with Will strapped onto me, carrying the diaper bag and my bag. We get through security this time. Because I had Will in the baby bjorn and didn't take him out, after we go through the metal detector they always rub my hands with this paper to check for explosive material. Wouldn't you know that stupid thing came out positive for explosive material on my hands! What the CRAP?! So they take us to a room and do a full body pat down, yep, with my baby attached and all. RIDICULOUS! After that, I am seriously sprinting my way to the shuttle to make it to my gate before they leave without us. I had to stop to get water for Will's bottle and I hear overhead, "last call for passenger Stacie Goodrich". It was literally like a scene from a movie, I go running up to the gate just as she was shutting it and they actually let me on. I am in tears at this point and they all felt bad for me. Everyone was on the plane, in their seats just waiting for me!!! It was horrible, they were all staring at me as I'm making my way down the aisle with a baby strapped to me, crying. After this awful experience, I seriously NEVER want to fly again...

Oh my gosh Stace, I never heard this story! Saddest thing ever! I totally would be bawling, but probably would have been a wuss and given up. You're amazing! I hardley ever check private blogs, but I wanted to see if you posted your new FotoFly pics of the kids so I could steal one and print it off for my house :) I'll keep an eye out!
