Mother's Day Bust!

We've had quite the eventful past week. I don't even know where to start. A week ago today Cathie, my mother in law, called and told us that Dustin's dad needed an urgent heart bypass surgery. This came as a big shocker and we could not believe it because Papa Mark is so young. So off the Utah Dustin went and he took Courtney with him because she is still young enough to fly for free and thought everyone would like to see her. Well, after working out some kinks and details, Mark was able to have quadruple bypass surgery on Friday by an amazingly talented surgeon at LDS hospital, Dr. Long. Things went smoothly and Papa actually made it home today to start his long recovery. We love you Papa and know you will be back on your feet soon enough (but not too soon, stay in bed!). Dustin had a nice trip home under the circumstances and was able to be there for his family through this tough time. Of coarse no trip home goes without a run to the hospital and so up to Primary Children's my mom went with Courtney due to a 102 fever. We were ecstatic when they told us it was most likely viral. I will take a virus any day over a UTI! She is doing better now.
Zack and I were buddies here at home and went to see 'Meet the Robinsons' in 3-D and went swimming and ended our weekend going out to lunch on Mother's Day at Mimi's Cafe after Sacrament meeting. I didn't feel all that good due to some nasty allergies and didn't want to cook! One more thing I can officially add to my resume now is electrician. I installed a new hanging light above my kitchen table this weekend. We had this old gold thing and it was kind of ugly, so I went to Lowe's bought a new and improved one and installed it all by myself... well Zack helped pass me the tools when he wasn't 'fixing' things himself!
I just thought I'd take a picture of my newest home improvement because I'm pretty darn proud of it! If you ever need help installing a new light fixture give me a call, I'd love to tell you exactly how I don't know how to do it!

looks great electrician stac...you are great! I thought Dustin's dad was having his stuff done at St. Marks? He must have moved and I didn't hear of it. Good to hear that he is already home and on the road to recovery.

Way to go on the light fixture Stace! I would be proud too. I'm glad to hear that Dustin's Dad is doing okay. Heart surgery is scary. My Dad had a quadruple bypass 3 years ago. The recovery is rough, and there's lots of pills, but it's all worth it to know they have a healthy working heart. But I'm sure Dustin knows a lot about that stuff from his job, so that's good!

P.S. Thanks for the Mother's Day card. It couldn't have come at a better time and been more encouraging. Your always so thoughtful!

That looks awesome! Why do they put those gold ones in anyway? I've always been so spooked of electricy that I wouldn't even attempt that. I'm super impressed. I bet Dustin was so happy that he didn't have to do it later on. Way to be the women!
